WELCOME!
I just wanted to start off by welcoming everyone to my new blog. I'm very excited to be documenting more of my life as well as my newfound hobby: refurbishing furniture.
I'm going to start off today by showing pictures of a few of my new crate projects I've been working on over the past couple of weeks.
First is my crate bookcase, designed for a child's bedroom or playroom.
This was an idea I discovered while on Pinterest (love!) and decided to try it over the weekend. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and how simple it was to make. The original link said to use spray paint but I wanted to try a couple of sample bottles of paint I had leftover from a past project.
I painted the outsides first because I was going to go with a different color for the insides but later changed my mind. I did paint the first crate blue and black inside but it was too dark and seemed to dull the blue rather than making it pop like I thought. I think it turned out great with the entire crate painted the same color. The yellow is my favorite, love how bright it is!
Another project was a rolling distressed crate for toys, books, etc.
I've never purchased wheels before and was a little turned around in Lowe's while looking for the "wheel isle." When I asked where the wheels were I was getting funny looks and asked questions like, "You mean wheels for a lawnmower or bike?" Um no...I mean wheels for a rolling crate! Turns out, these are called casters, just in case you were wondering. :)
I will be posting another shortly with ottomans I recovered!
