And more frames

For the other two frames I got at Goodwill, I decided to turn them into serving trays for a bathroom counter. My mom had mentioned wanting one before so I decided to turn this project into a potential Mother's Day gift for her(I'm a little behind on posting this project). I love the look of distressed painting and lightly colored chalky paints but she is more into a stained look so I decided to lightly stain one of the frames for her and add a mirror instead of glass. I don't have a before picture of any of the frames but they were all scratched and bent with older, outdated pictures. Below is the after picture of just the frame itself with the mirror. I just went to my local glass company to get the mirror cut to size.

Wooden Frame

I bought two rustic handles to attach to the frame but couldn't get them to stick with Krazy Glue or hot glue and didn't have any screws to use. Still trying to decide if I want to put the handles on or not but I went ahead and staged the tray in my parent's bathroom while they are out of town so they will have a nice surprise when they return.

Frame & Mason Jars
Frame, Mason Jars & Candles

Remember the cute mason jars I spray painted? Well they found their new home! Not sure yet if I like it better with just the mason jars or mason jars and candles. For the flowers, I just ran to Hobby Lobby (I sound like an ad for that place these days!) and grabbed an already make bouquet that was priced 50% off. Can't beat their deals!

Overall I am pleased with this cute Mother's Day project and decided to make one for myself after I saw how cute this turned out.

Since my mom's was a stained frame with a mirror, I decided to take mine in a completely different direction:

Dsitresed Frame
Frame & Mason Jars

Can you tell I love the light blue chalky paint I got from Hobby Lobby?! I paired it with a cute scrapbook paper design and added twine wrapped handles to really tie the piece together. Since I only made 2 metallic mason jars, I borrowed mom's for this project and decided I definitely need to make more!

Serving Tray

I really like the idea of keeping it simple with a family picture, candles and some flowers but since this piece was created as a serving tray to hold loose items in my bathroom, I decided to put it to use!
