End Table Transformation

So a few months ago, I came across two wooden end tables for $30. They were a little beat up and had no top but I just couldn't pass them up. I of course bought them on the spot thinking it would be a simple flip by just getting a piece of glass cut for the tops and calling it a day. But...once I got a better look I noticed there were deep dents and scratches all over the tables so they would need to be filled in with wood filler and painted. My parents had just gone to the beach and visited a couple of thrift shops while they were there and noticed a lot of end tables painted off white with gray stained wooden tops. After looking at pictures online, I really liked the look and kept the idea in the back of my mind.

Here is the table before:

I first painted the table a chalky white since I'm not a huge fan of off white. I was still playing with the idea of either getting glass cut or possibly adding gray stained wood across the top when I started painting from the bottom up.

Once I saw the contrast of the dark brown wood on the chalk white base, I fell in love and decided to change from a gray stained top to a dark stained top for the tables.

I love how they turned out! For the top, I just used a 1 x 6 and cut it into four pieces to cover the top along with a dark stain from Lowe's. As soon as I posted them on the Facebook Garage Sale pages I had people interested in seeing them in person. Within a few days, the tables were sold and I was $60 richer!

Here is a before & after of the tables:
