Brown & White
After completing the end tables transformation project last week, I decided to try out the dark brown/white contrast again with a side table I scored from Goodwill. It was only $6 and all it needed was a new paint job.
Here is the table before anything was done to it:
I wasn't sure which part I wanted to paint brown and which part white until I really took a look at the stains and the price written on the top of the table. I knew the white was going to take a few coats to cover that while the brown would cover in just one. The only bad thing was I couldn't just stain it brown, I would have to actually use paint to make sure it covered everything. That's when I pulled out my dark brown chalk paint I had been dying to use and decided to try it out. I found it was much easier to take the table completely apart and paint the sections separately and then put it back together.
Here is the table after being painted with a chalk white for the base and a chalk brown for the top and shelf:
I'm definitely in love with the brown & white contrast and think the table turned out better than expected!
