Love is in the air

Love is in the air! Oh no, not with me…with JoJo Fletcher, the new Bachelorette! The show is back and the first episode aired this past Monday and wow does she have some hard choices to make. Starting out at a whopping 26 guys she cut it down to 20 just in the first night. Next week will trim the group down by another 4 and then we will see it slow down a little for the upcoming weeks.

With every season of The Bachelor/Bachelorette, you will have a few contestants that stand out. This season Daniel, the Canadian stood out and not in a good way. After poking another man’s bellybutton (“You never poke another man’s bellybutton,” said the man) he stripped down to show off his male model body and jumped into the pool while the others looked on in disbelief. While watching the Rose Ceremony I think I, along with every viewer just knew Daniel was going home. But he pulled through and will be around for another week. Maybe he won’t be as obnoxious when the alcohol intake slows down.

Another stand out was Jordan. He landed the First Impression Rose from JoJo and stole a romantic kiss during the first night. He has already been marked as a major competitor by the other guys since he cruised through the Rose Ceremony will no worries. But if we have learned anything in previous seasons, the one making the best first impression usually winds up being the crazy one. Remember Olivia from Ben Higgins’ season?

Some of the other memorable actions in last night’s episode were a guy showing up on a “real-life” unicorn, Nick B dressing up as “Saint Nick,” Alex doing push-ups while JoJo sits on his back, Wells bringing the 90’s acapella group All-4-One to serenade JoJo with their version of “I Swear,” and everyone else saying how nervous they are. Overall I think it will wind up being a very interesting season.
